Buckeye Telecom was founded on a simple idea: Ohio businesses deserve better than the carrier-driven, one-size-fits-all approach that has dominated the telecom and IT industry for decades.
Too many companies were being sold whatever the carrier rep had a quota to hit that month — long contracts, oversized circuits, services they didn’t need, and support lines that led nowhere. We saw business owners spending hours fighting their providers when they should have been running their companies.
So we built something different. A carrier-neutral, locally owned firm with engineers — not salespeople — answering the phone. A team that earns its keep by saving clients money, not by hitting a vendor’s revenue target.
Twenty-plus years later, that’s still how we operate. We work for our clients, not for a carrier. We say no to solutions that don’t fit, even when they’d be profitable for us. And we measure ourselves by one thing: do our clients stay with us? They do — because we’ve earned it.
